The video talked about how as our bodies are fed more and more Dopamine they will need more and more to be satisfied due to Homeostatis.

The video brought up that we look at our phones constantly in hopes of getting notifications as little Dopamine hits. In thinking about myself, this is probably why I’m more likely to empty my RSS feed instead of reading the best articles from yesterday that I have curated. I’m going to the feed in hopes of finding something fun and exciting to trigger the Dopamine hit.

The video recommends a Dopamine Detox where on a certain day you avoid all sources of dopamine in hopes of lowering your required thresholds.

In the video, he recommends linking your low-dopamine activities that you need to do to push you forward with the high dopamine activities as a reward for completing them. This is similar to what I did after reading Atomic Habits where I would reward myself for working out with a night of video games.
