Black Hole Distractions

Published June 9, 2022

Black Hole Distractions are when you set out to learn more about one topic and then start following a tangential thought. You then realize an hour later that you’ve been following that thread and now wonder where the time went. You also realize that you haven’t been doing what you originally set out to do and now need to catch up.

This happens regularly to me on Monday evenings when I start reading, writing and researching, but I find out that I am just along for the ride. Recently, one of the items in my Task Manager was “Procreate for Infographics” and after started on that topic I found myself researching Procreate calligraphy on YouTube. I enjoyed the ride and learned some skills along the way, but in no way was that what I set out to do.
