when I was younger I would kind of approach everything blank slate oh I need to price my product I need to figure out how to roll out you know a major data migration and in every case I would just try to invent from first principles like no one ever done this before and at some point I realized actually lots of people have done maybe not the exact thing that I or my team is trying to do but you can benefit so much from experience and I feel like learning from wisdom of the elders is just not a thing that’s really a part of the tech world that tends to skew young and yeah maybe startup culture tends to attract young founders who are sort of almost like take pride in their naivety.
