Nerdsniping is a term that was coined by Randall Munroe, the creator of the webcomic xkcd, to describe the act of distracting a mathematician or scientist with a seemingly simple yet intriguing problem, leading them down a rabbit hole of complex calculations and analysis that keeps them occupied for hours or even days. It can also refer to any situation where an individual becomes so engrossed in a complex or challenging problem that they are unable to focus on anything else.
