Introduced to me by Jeff Bordogna

Giving each member of your team time on a consistent basis to work on things that are not dictated by the company’s quarterly goals, but that the individual thinks will improve the company in some way. It feels similar to the goals behind Google’s 20 Percent Time.

My personal opinion on this is it is a good idea in principle, but is unhealthy for the individual and the company to attempt to do it in each sprint. Sometimes there are external factors outside our control that require us to focus solely on our core objectives for small bursts of time.
